Get to know who we are

For those of you who don’t know us, let us introduce ourselves. We’re Erik & Laramie Jackson. A husband and wife team who do basically everything in house (literally at our house). At this point in time we haven’t outsourced anything but label design for our product. We are thankful to be building this business from the ground up by hand.

Both of us grew up rodeoing through high school & college. When Erik graduated from Montana State, we both left for the hemp business in Nevada (2017). Plant Fuel Genetics, our other business, focuses on high CBD hemp breeding and providing a high quality seed to farmers in the western half of the United States. Through PFG we have been involved in the growing of thousands of acres of hemp in Nevada.

From our years in the hemp industry we have amassed an extensive network of farmers and other industry professionals involved in getting hemp products to the market. We saw a need in the equine industry and found a way to meet that need without straying far from our knowledge base. A 100% natural, high quality supplement with minimal processing, to help support horses while competing, training, and traveling continues to be our #1 goal. Fortitude was born out of that desire.

We both enjoy roping and nice barrel horses. We spend a large portion of our time at home in the arena, either roping or riding young horses. Even the barrel horses have to spend time roping! When we say that we understand the issues that performance horse owners face, we truly get it. We understand the importance of support through high stress situations like training and competing.

We know that there are other hemp based supplements on the market. We will continue to strive to be the highest quality, most affordable option out there. And we can guarantee that no others have the knowledge of both industries like we do! As Fortitude expands we thank each one of you for the support and trusting us to help your equine athletes.

  • Hi Jamie,

Some of our other blog posts, such as “what do we know about CBD in horses, and is it beneficial” or “CBD and Inflammation: The Science” would be good places for you to start. Both of these blog posts have scientific literature cited and are written in a way that is easy to follow.

  • Hello! Can you please explain to me what all your product does for horses? I have a 14 and 4 year old barrel horses. I hear lots about Hemp but am not educated on what it does and how it works. Do you have any literature you can share with me?
